Faux Painting .. Wednesday Evenings

FOR ADULTS

Faux Painting: Wednesday evenings, 7 – 9 p.m.

April 4: Faux marble & granite

May 2: Brick & Stone

Cost: $50 per class

Have you ever wanted to paint an old table to make it look like new?  Have you wished you could replace your beat up wood floor with marble, but can’t afford the cost? Would you like your plain kitchen walls to look like italian stucco?

Here is your opportunity. Each class focuses on a particular technique such as sponging, dry brushing, ragging, color washing, and more.. Each participant will have a hands-on experience creating a finished sample board to take home, as well as the skills to tackle a home improvement project.

All painting supplies are provided. Participants should dress appropriately, as painting can be messy..

Instructor Mike Duarte is the resident set designer and scenic artist at Dean College. For school productions, Mike has created marble and stucco walls, brick walks, hardwood and slate floors, weathered decking, and raised paneling among other finishes. Mike has his own business, Mill River Associates, where he designs, builds, and paints sets for local theater groups including MMAS.

Class size limit: 10 participants
