Our Past….
The Mansfield Music and Arts Society was founded in 1993 by a group of ten local artists with a goal of fostering the arts in Southeastern Massachusetts.
Our first location at 30 Reservoir Street allowed us space to develop and establish our fine- and performing-arts programming. In the Cote Gallery, we hosted approximately 50 showings for fine artists hailing from all over New England, and brought many noteworthy musicians to the area to perform on the original MMAS Black Box Theater stage.
In conjunction with the Tweeter Center, the Mansfield Music and Arts Society sponsored the successful Holiday Lights Display, and began the annual Southeastern Mass Arts Festival.
Our facility provided meeting, rehearsal and performance space for groups such as the Mansfield Grange, the Mansfield Garden Club, The Norton Singers and The New England Repertory Company.
